Solitary Gratitude

I’ve written before about solitary holidays and my little single-person “gatherings” with my happy pitbull. If you’re interested in reading my defense of single-family homes, you can find it here. I also explain why our holidays are not to be pitied.

Dinner for One

This year, I didn’t feel like cooking a whole lot of food. So I mostly opted for prepackaged snacks and things I can make in the air fryer. If figured that would keep it festive today and through the weekend. However, I did want to make one really delicious dish, so I used this recipe to make garlic cheese crack bread. I just have to let you know it is absolutely divine.

I kinda thought it might come out soggy and fall apart easily but it actually pulls apart really well. I mean ultimately it’s just standard cheesy bread so taste wise, what you see is what you get. The form factor here makes a big difference though, it feels really fancy. I’m glad I heated up the marinara even though I wasn’t sure I would need it. It really does feel like little bread sticks and they are SO good!!

Gratitude Realness

There’s plenty to be worried about if I want, but I just can’t sit in that energy. For all its drudgery and sorrow it is still good to be alive. I have so many things to be grateful for when I look for them. And you, yes you reading this, even if I don’t know you at all, you are one of them. Thank you.
