A Prayer for the Bishop

God of justice and liberation,
we cry out for hearts ensnared by the illusions of empire.
Shatter the lies of division, fear, and anger—
where hatred festers, sow empathy;
where falsehood reigns, reveal truth.
Open every eye to see the fullness of humanity in all Your children,
uprooting the idols of supremacy and indifference.
Empower each one to turn from rhetoric that wounds,
embracing the gospel call to love and reconcile.
Shield us from forces that exploit our divisions,
and guide us toward Your kingdom of shalom—
where mercy triumphs over cruelty and unity overcomes fear.
In the name of the Christ who topples oppression,
